| Jessica Rowley '05 |
Jessica Rowley '05 was awarded a Jumpstart Pearson Teacher Fellowship in 2006. In addition to the Jumpstart program, Rowley participated in the Pitzer in Ontario program; studied abroad in Nicaragua and Costa Rica; and volunteered at Prototypes Women's Center, as a parenting Center Intern and a Writing Group Facilitator for incarcerated mothers. Rowley currently resides in San Francisco where she is completing a fellowship as a preschool teacher at the Tenderloin childcare Center.
The Pearson Teacher Fellowship began with a multi-million dollar commitment in 2001 to provide the opportunity for achievement oriented college graduates to enter the early education field by becoming preschool teachers in Head Start and other early learning centers. The Fellowship provides these talented individuals a stipend, intensive training, assistance earning teaching certification, mentoring from a Pearson professional, and additional support and resources during the first two-years of their teaching careers.
