Nick Kislinger '07 Named Coro Fellow

| Nick Kislinger '07 has been named a Coro Fellow; he will be based at the Coro Leadership Center in St. Louis, Missouri. |
Nick Kislinger '07 has been elected to participate in the 2007-2008 Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs. He will be based at the Coro Leadership Center in St. Louis, Missouri and will take part in a series of internships, interviews, public service projects and seminars.
Nick graduated from Pitzer College in June 2007 where he created Dining with Democracy, a lecture series designed to bring today's leaders to Pitzer to inspire tomorrows. As the student representative on the development committee of Pitzer College's Board of Trustees, the founder of the Prison SMART (Stress Management and Rehabilitation Training) Program at the Afflerbaugh/Page Juvenile Camp in La Verne, CA, and the recipient of the Kallick Community Service Award, Nick was an innovative, enthusiastic, and engaging student leader. As a Coro Fellow he looks forward to building upon his skills with a career in public services as his goal.

Nick initially majored in Organizational Studies and then created his own major in Organizational Ecology. The inaugural speaker of the Dining with Democracy series that Nick brought to campus was Ralph Nader. Nader conversed with a small group of students, faculty and staff over dinner at the Grove House. Nader then spoke to an audience of nearly 1,000 attendees in Bridges Auditorium.
Coro Fellowship
There are several Coro programs; the Fellows Program in Public Affairs is Coro's best known. It is a nine-month, full-time, post-graduate experiential leadership training program which introduces diverse, intelligent and driven young public servants to all aspects of the public affairs arena. Sixty-eight Fellows are chosen annually each year through a highly competitive selection process. The Fellows Program in Public Affairs is conducted in Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and St. Louis.
