Enrique Escalona

Figures

IMAGE, IN CARICATURE, OF THE NEW FILMMAKERS. THESE ARE THE IDEOLOGICAL ATTITUDES OF THE 8MM DIRECTORS. ONE OF THEIR OWN, TALENTED IN GRAPHICS, DEFINES THEM

In Escalona's doodles are found all tendencies of the young "Independent Cinema." This is good. What isn't good is that already, before even becoming a movement, there are fissures that threaten to atomize the attempts at coordinated efforts, at coexistence. That is to say, the novice filmmakers, like their elders, prove fierce cannibals. This, frankly, is disheartening. [End Page 67]
