In the most recent data reported by the National Science Foundation, Pitzer College ranked 8th in the number of alumni who pursued a PhD in psychology, 29th in the number of alumni who pursued a PhD in anthropology, and 38th in the number of alumni who pursued a PhD in sociology out of 154 private colleges and universities.
