Pitzer College

Pitzer College
Founded in 1963, Pitzer is a coeducational liberal arts college with a strong commitment to the values of a residential educational community. It offers concentrations in all major fields of the liberal arts with curricular emphasis on the social and behavioral sciences. Its particular strengths lie in encouragement of independent work and the development of a critical approach to the traditional disciplines.

Claremont McKenna College

Claremont McKenna College
Founded in 1946, CMC offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in 26 fields, often combined by students in dual majors. Most of the College's students choose a major or part of a dual major in economics, government or international relations. CMC is unique among liberal arts colleges in that it actively supports faculty and student research and publications through seven research institutes.

Harvey Mudd College

Harvey Mudd College
Established in 1955, HMC is a coeducational college of science and engineering. The curriculum is designed to create scientists and engineers with unusual breadth in their technical education and a firm academic grounding in the humanities and social sciences. Engineering students may opt for a fifth-year master's degree program.

Pomona College

Pomona College
Pomona, founding member of the consortium, is an independent, coeducational college offering instruction in all major fields of the arts, humanities, social and natural sciences. Pomona emphasizes both liberal arts and paraprofessional training, providing students with considerable exposure to a wide range of fields and first-rate preparation for future professions.

Scripps College

Scripps College
Started in 1926, Scripps is a liberal arts college for women. Its curriculum offers a wide variety of humanities, fine arts and social science courses. Scripps offers the Bachelor of Arts degree, with more than 30 majors in five fields: the Arts, Languages and Literature, Philosophy and Religion, Science and Social Sciences.

CGU

Claremont Graduate University
Founded in 1925, CGU offers advanced work in humanities, fine arts, mathematics, social sciences, education, management, executive management, and information science. It is a graduate-only institution, granting masters and doctoral degrees.

KGI

Keck Graduate Institute
Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences (KGI), the seventh and newest member of The Claremont Colleges, is the first American graduate school dedicated exclusively to the emerging fields of the applied life sciences. KGI's mission is to combine the vast power of ongoing developments in molecular biology, biotechnology, chemistry and related fields with creative, application-centered engineering. Professionally-oriented master's degrees requiring two full years of study will be KGI's primary offering, along with a smaller but highly innovative doctoral program to be initiated within a few years.

Claremont University Consortium

The Claremont University Consortium (CUC) is the central coordinating and support organization for a highly regarded cluster of seven independent colleges known as The Claremont Colleges, located in Southern California. Originally established in 1925 as part of Claremont University Center, in July 2000 CUC incorporated as a freestanding tax-exempt organization with a visionary Chief Executive Officer, committed Board of Overseers and 350 full-time employees. Today, with a well-managed annual budget over $34 million, CUC is a nationally recognized educational model for academic support, student support and institutional support services to meet the needs of 6,500 students and 3,300 faculty and staff. Some of the 28 different services include: campus safety, a central library, health and counseling services, ethnic centers, central bookstore, physical plant and facilities support, payroll and accounting, information technology, human resources, real estate, risk management and employee benefits. Additional functions include advancing The Claremont Colleges, founding additional institutions and promoting cooperation among members to enhance educational excellence. CUC also holds title to land for future institutions, central programs and services as well as all central facilities operated on behalf of the members.
